Alpha has expanded its wide range of off-the-shelf products to meet customer requirements. We have added a no surface finish option to our copper embedded heatsinks, UBC series and LC series.

As electronic devices like FPGAs, ASICs, and CPUs become more powerful, they are often mounted on PCBs that are densely populated with other high power devices. If the contact area of these devices is small, it can become very difficult to properly cool them. Alpha recommends the use of our copper embedded heatsinks to solve this issue.

Alpha's standard surface finish is typically black or clear anodize. This finish provides excellent corrosion and abrasion resistance, and is not electrically conductive. However, corrosion may not be a significant issue inside of an electronics enclosure. Our heat sinks are made from A6063 Aluminum, providing strong corrosion resistance, even unplated. An electrically conductive finish may also be required for EMI/grounding reasons.

Anodizing our copper embedded heat sinks can be a complex and expensive process. We can offer a significant cost reduction if a bare aluminum finish is acceptable. So, we have added a no surface finish option.

For additional details, please visit our UBC series and LC series.

Model Name Base Size (mm) Height (mm)
UBC60 60 x 60 10 - 25
UBC100 100 x 100 15 - 25
LC100 100 x 100 30 - 40

Alpha can also customize our standard heatsinks. If a modification is required, please contact us.
Shipments will begin on 10/20/2022.
